We felt spoilt - and with the spa, pool , BBQ and alfresco courtyard eating, the offer of bikes and more - going back in warmer months is a must. Karen and Peter stand out as hosts, it was lovely experience for us as guests.

It was a great 2-night stop at the end of our trip to just rest and be happy Peter and Karen have created an oasis for guests in Waihi. We were a group of 4 couples and stayed in both cottages. The place is gorgeous with a beautiful pool and hot tub and just across the street from the beach. The kitchen and living spaces are perfect. We arranged breakfast one morning with Karen's famous muesli and we loved it so much we asked for the recipe. They are fabulous hosts. We walked the beach in the morning and ate twice at Flat White which was delicious. The best dinner of our entire trip was 20 minutes away at Bistro at Falls Retreat - just go there.

The standard of the accommodation was top notch, with the best possible location. The property stood out as one of the nicest in the area. Peter and Karen made us feel so welcome and our stay so special, especially as it was Emma’s (my girlfriend’s) 30th birthday surprise. They really did go the extra mile. We wish we could have stayed longer but know for sure that we will be back!

One of our most caring if not best hosts. We were in for a short stay but that didn’t make our small trip to Waihi any less enjoyable. Peter and Karen were kind enough to point us in the right direction to make the most out of Waihi in the time we had, and we did. The stay was great and hosts were more than helpful. Peter and Karen were the most amazing Hosts, going above and beyond, leaving great little touches around the place too. The cottage was sparkling clean, and a great set up for even when the weather wasn’t the greatest. Some say “life is like a box of chocolates and you never know what you are going to get” - well all I can say is that this is definitely one to pick out of the box! Fabulous hosts, location and a relaxing place to stay! You can be as busy or as relaxed as you wish with so many options on your doorstep! Great local cafes and restaurants for eating out or you can cook at the accommodation and dine in! Clean and comfortable. Bicycles are available for use to have a look around this wonderful location, as well as pool and spa facilities on site for a soak at the end of the day!

We stayed with Peter & Karen at Waihi Beach Paradise Resort for 7 days. The property was spotless, the attention to detail was a great surprise and the beach...absolutely pristine. Peter & Karen had a treasure full of advice on the area and attractions. More than enough towels & coffee were supplied. It is lovely, beautiful and quiet. The perfect formula for a relaxing romantic getaway. Oh...did I mention the heated pool and spa. It was supercalifragilisticexpealidocious!

We loved the privacy of the cottage, and we had lots of fun and giggles while staying here. The spa pool just out the door was perfect for a dip and beautifully clean. It had everything we needed including extra towels for the pool. As the beach was so close we watched the sunset and rise again. Peter & Karen were great just checking we had everything and tips on where to dine ( even offering to drop us off and collect us). We had a great weekend and created lots of memories.

We stayed in the cottage for 6 nights in January. Our stay was great with the accommodation extremely clean and in great condition with thoughtful extras such as chocolate and coffee capsules. The outside areas were much enjoyed including the covered area at the front which really extended the inside living area, as well as the sunny area at the back which included a great private spa pool. The pool area was magnificent, very well maintained and heated, along with great lounging area. Much enjoyed both with our young child and on our own. The accommodation was exemplified by Peter and Karen who are superb hosts. Very friendly and attentive to ensure that everything was in good order. When the microwave decided to go, we had a replacement ready to go in no time at all which wasn’t expected. Great location as well, across from the beach, around the corner from the fish and chip shop and dairy, and a few km’s from town. Highly recommend staying here and we will be sure to return next time we are in the area.

I was fortunate to spend a whole week in Waihi Beach and I loved staying in the apartment by Peter and Karen's house. Their attention to detail is impeccable with lots of little extras - including fresh fruit and quality linen! They are working hard to ensure they operate with a light footprint, without compromising on their quality of service. The free use of bikes was an added bonus - there is some lovely easy riding right from the front door, along the coastline. Being located right by the beach made me feel instantly relaxed and I'd love to come again!
